Another postponement of the launch of the PW-Sat2 satellite

Difficult weather conditions forced SpaceX to once again postpone the launch of its Falcon 9 rocket with the PW-Sat2 satellite on board. This is the second postponement of the launch. The new date has not yet been set.

SpaceX announced the postponement of the Falcon 9 rocket launch via Twitter. The reason is strong winds in gor different layers of the atmosphere. The new date has not yet been announced, but it will be no earlier than the first of December.

This is the second postponement of the rocket launch. The original plans called for the launch of the payload on November 19. Then probę postponed for additional inspections.

This is a historic launch for SpaceX. It will be the first time that the same reusable rocket will fly into space, ktora has already carried payloads into space twice before.

The student-built PW-Sat2 satellite is to be launched in a historic flightoat the Warsaw University of Technology. The satellite will test the deorbit sail, ktory, when unfolded, will significantly increase the satellite’s surface area and thus aerodynamic drag, so that PW-Sat2 will lower its orbit to eventually burn up in the atmosphere.

Wednesday's launch attempt of Spaceflight SSO-A from Vandenberg Air Force Base is currently no-go due to extreme high-altitude winds that violate Range requirements. Vehicle and payloads are healthy. We will announce a new launch date once confirmed with the Range.

– Such a system makes it possible to speed up ca. 20-fold release of orbital space after satellite mission completion. Its use in future satellites will help solve the problem of space debris formation – said Inna Uvarova, coordinator of the project carried out by a member of theoin the Student Astronautical Circle of the Warsaw University of Technology.

Also aboard the same Falcon 9 rocket will be satellites: the Polish-Finnish ICEYE-X2 for Earth observation and the ESEO/S-50 – realized as part of the European Space Agency’s educational program, for which theorego telecommunications system was prepared largely at the Technical University.
